below ,are the results of the trials (on the neon tubes), 2 neon lighting tubes
(one of which has a PC cover). In order to test their efficiency to absorb the
light normally given out by this type of lighting on the interior edge of the
spectrum. A mesurement of the 2 tubes (see
graph below) was taken with anoptical spectrometer covering a range of 280 nm
to 700nm. The background noise caused by interferences from the lighting is eliminated
in both cases. According to this result, it
appears that the coursing suggested absbors the emissions of the neon tube above
380nm (beginning of UV) without modifying the rest of the spectrum. The
different ratio between the covered and un covered tubes can be visualized by
the graph below. Most importantly, the efficiency
of the proposed cover, goes as far as to absorb the emissions of the last 2 neon
peaks (316nm and 368nm) given out by the uminous tubes. |
